Can I use the Travel Card to pay for a student ticket?

Yes. You can buy any ticket type from the driver using a Hatch Green Coaches Travel Card providing you have sufficient funds on your card to pay for the ticket you’ve requested.

What happens if I’ve mislaid my Travel Card?

If you’ve registered your card online by going to the Hatch Green Coaches website, your balance is secure and can be transferred to a replacement card in your online Travel Card account. A fee of £5 will be charged for each replacement card issued in the event of loss or damage.

How soon after topping-up my Travel Card can I use the balance to pay for bus tickets?

If you top-up online, please allow up to 24 hours for your card balance to be updated and for the top-up value to be ready for use to pay for your travel. A top-up made on the bus is credited to your Travel Card instantly and can therefore be used to pay for your bus travel there and then.

What happens if my Travel Card balance is less than the cost of my ticket?

You would need to make payment by an alternative means of payment (cash or contactless card payment). Fortunately, an automatic top-up can be set from your online account so that you can safely travel knowing your Travel Card balance always has sufficient funds to pay for your travel.

How can I find out the balance of my Travel Card?

When you purchase a ticket the remaining balance will be printed on the ticket. Alternatively, you can log in to your online account and view the balance on your card.

How much does the Travel Card cost?

The Travel Card is free to use and free to top-up, no matter how many journeys you make or how little or often you apply credit to your Travel Card.
